Newport Classical Recital Hall

The Newport Classical Recital Hall, located at Emmanuel Church, is a beautiful and acoustically exceptional 182-seat venue that is home to Newport Classical’s year-round Chamber Series, in addition to educational workshops and gatherings. This space also serves as the main offices for the organization. The Recital Hall is now equipped with air conditioning.

PARKING
There is limited, free parking available in the lot directly across the street from Emmanuel Church. We anticipate this will become full quickly on concert days and encourage you to leave ample time to find street parking in the surrounding neighborhood. Additional parking is located along Dearborn, Baptist and Perry Streets, as well as Thames and Spring Streets.

Fully wheelchair accessible. An accessible ramp is available through the main entrance.

Who says chamber music must follow a program? Ensemble Mélange puts the audience in the driver's seat for an interactive concert unlike any other. With a menu of more than 30 selections spanning classical favorites, jazz, Latin, Broadway, and beyond, audience members are randomly chosen to select what the ensemble performs next. The result is an engaging, high-energy concert where no two performances are ever the same, offering an exciting musical adventure for concertgoers of all ages.

Closing the Chamber Series season, violinist Njioma Chinyere Grevious brings her “superb” (Chicago Classical Review) artistry to the Recital Hall for a program featuring Bach, Brahms, Mozart, and more. A Juilliard graduate and founding member of the Abeo Quartet, Grevious appears regularly as a soloist and chamber musician at major venues including Carnegie Hall, Wigmore Hall, and the Concertgebouw, and performs with orchestras such as the Chicago Philharmonic and Sphinx Virtuosi. She is also a committed collaborator and mentor, and currently serves as Artist in Residence with the Chicago Philharmonic.
