Chanticleer

GRAMMY® Award-winning male-voiced “orchestra of voices” Chanticleer makes their much-anticipated return to Newport after a sold-out concert during the 2021 Festival. Called Music of a silent world, this program features songs of the natural world and gives a voice to the rocks, stones, trees, and rivers that share the planet with us. Works include music by Stephen Sondheim, Heinrich Isaac, and Joni Mitchell, and a new commission from Chanticleer’s composer in residence, Ayanna Woods.

“The singing of Chanticleer is breathtaking in its accuracy of intonation, purity of blend, variety of color and swagger of style.” – The Boston Globe
