Hailed for her virtuosity and vibrant musical spirit, bassoonist Eleni Katz has established herself as a prominent soloist, chamber musician and orchestral player. Eleni is a winner of the 2022 Concert Artist Guild Competition and a 2022 Fellow with the Phoenix Chamber Music Society, where she performed alongside David Shifrin, Valerie Coleman, and Gabriel Kovach. She is joined by pianist Evren Ozel in his return to the Newport Classical stage – together the two bring life to the classical bassoon repertoire exploring themes of dance styles, rhythms, lyricism, and emotion.

Event Details

The Newport Classical Recital Hall at Emmanuel Church is the home for the 22/23 Newport Classical Chamber Series. This magnificent Tudor Gothic Revival structure is on the National Register of Historic Places, and was built by Natalie Bayard Brown in memory of her late husband John Nicholas Brown, Sr. This intimate performance space provides clean acoustics and has been called a "marvelous, warm, and inviting venue" by patrons.

Parking and Accessibility Information: Parking is available on a first come, first served basis in a free lot directly across the street. Additional street parking is located along Dearborn, Baptist, Perry, Thames and Spring Streets. An accessible ramp entrance is located on S. Baptist Street. Please let the Box Office know if you will be using this entrance so a volunteer can meet you at the ramp.

Doors will open at 7:30pm, however, please arrive early to find parking.

We regret that there are no refunds or cancellations.

If you are unable to use your tickets, you may donate them to Newport Classical for resale up until 30 minutes prior to the performance. Once your donated tickets are received by the box office, a tax receipt will be mailed to you approximately four weeks after the performance date.

Subject to availability, if you are unable to attend a performance, you will be eligible for a complimentary exchange into a future performance in the same season. Exchanges may be requested up until the performance curtain time, and ticket buyers will be asked to pay the difference in price should the replacement performance ticket price exceed that of the original ticket.
