An Evening with Violinist Rachel Barton Pine

Acclaimed violinist Rachel Barton Pine, described by The New York Times as “striking and charismatic” with “bravura technique and soulful musicianship,” has garnered international praise for performances that combine her distinctive sound with a deep connection to musical history. Celebrated by audiences worldwide and recognized as “in the top echelon” of today’s performers by The Washington Post, Pine makes her Newport debut at the stunning Rosecliff Mansion.  Pine is joined by virtuoso pianist Matthew Hagle for an evening featuring Brahms’ Sonata No. 5 in E-flat major, Amanda Maier’s Sonata in B minor, Clara Schumann’s Three Romances, and Brahms’ Sonata No. 3 in D minor.

Rosecliff Mansion was commissioned by Nevada silver heiress Theresa Fair Oelrichs in 1899, architect Stanford White modeled Rosecliff after the Grand Trianon, the garden retreat of French kings at Versailles. After the house was completed in 1902, at a reported cost of $2.5 million, Mrs. Oelrichs hosted fabulous entertainments here, including a fairy tale dinner and a party featuring famed magician Harry Houdini.

If you are unable to use your tickets, you may donate them to Newport Classical for resale up until 90 minutes prior to the performance. Once your donated tickets are received by the box office, a tax receipt will be mailed to you approximately four weeks after the performance date.

Subject to availability, if you are unable to attend a performance, you will be eligible for a complimentary exchange into a future performance in the same season. Exchanges may be requested up until 90 minutes before a concert, and ticket buyers will be asked to pay the difference in price should the replacement performance ticket price exceed that of the original ticket. Newport Classical's annual season runs from September through August of the following year.
