Flutist Anthony Trionfo, whose playing has been called “breezily virtuosic” (The New York Times), joins our Festival Artists for a delightful morning concert featuring chamber masterworks for flute, strings, and piano. Come discover the first of Mozart’s flute quartets, Friedrich Kuhlau’s last and possibly greatest composition, Grand Trio, and other works by rarely heard composers of the late-Classical and early Romantic periods.
This concert with our Festival Artists explores the famous feud between Brahms and Liszt, in which both sought to build upon their own legacies to match that of the great Mozart. Director of Artistic Planning, Trevor Neal, has curated an incredible recital program of songs composed in the nearly forty years between 1888 and 1922.
