Castle Hill Inn, perched serenely above Narragansett Bay, is quintessential Newport at its finest. This Relais & Chateaux property boasts some of the most spectacular water views in all of New England. Newport Classical concerts are held inside the tent at The Chalet Terrace, with panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean and Narragansett Bay. Many of our patrons enjoy making pre-concert dinner reservations at the elegant indoor Dining Room or for al fresco dining at The Lawn.
This mansion was commissioned in the 19th Century by local marine biologist and naturalist Alexander Agassiz, who loved to observe the ocean. During World War II, the mansion served as an impromptu base for Naval Officers. Afterwards, it became a luxury summer hotel, and over the years Castle Hill Inn has hosted many glittering guests, such as actress Grace Kelly and playwright Thornton Wilder. Today, Castle Hill Inn is a year-round getaway.
